Ok, well this is my first opportunity to journal about the trip so far... so there is a lot to catch up on.
Day 1: Plane flight
Not much really to say here. The flight was 10 hours long. I had a hard time sleeping... and we pretty much made a beeline for our hotel.
Day 2: England
We saw Stonehenge... which was pretty neat even with me having to listen to the historical audio commentary device that we purchased as a part of the entry price.
We then travelled to Bath to see ancient roman bath's which were impressive enough... but after an hour or so of more historical audio commentary I was ready for bed. -_-
Oh, and we did all of this with a rented car... in England, where they drive on the LEFT side of the road. Dad had fun with that... yes he did. O.o; Curbness! But seriously, he gets like a hundred awesome points for not getting us into any accidents... even though his equilibrium was thrown off... and oh yeah, he was also driving a stick shift and... oh yeah... did I mention roundabouts? O.o;
Our hotel in Oxford was decent enough and we slept well.
Day 3: Oxford
We explored Oxford today, went to the university and went and saw the great hall... the inspiration for the Harry Potter great hall. Very cool place really. But HUGE. We didn't end up having enough time to do much else. But I did get to try my first ever Pastie.

Yummy! I wish we had those back home. They're like... a soup baked inside of bread.
Day 4: London
Our hotel sucks horribly. Like really bloody awful. Ok... moving on.
Our hotel was right down the street from the British Library... which we didn't see until a couple days later... but it was cool to walk past anyway. Since we checked in our car the day before we prepared ourselves for the Tube... and bought some Oyster cards.

Dude... the transportation system here is awesome. Once again, I am wishing home is more like here... (with the exception of the crappy hotel... seriously, do NOT stay at the Avalon Hotel, it is ghastly.) the buildings are like walking into an old movie... they have a lot of history... and they are really beautiful.

Not sure what the next few days order was, but at some point we visited Temple church and Westminister abbey (which was closed when we got there) but it was cool to look at anyway, and we talked to some English activists... cool people.

We saw a play! Monty Python's Spamalot. Our tickets came with a free dinner at a very posh restaurant with terrific food. Then the play of course was a thousand times awesome. I have plushie-proof. Evil bunny plushieness. XD Awesome, awesome, awesome.
We eventually saw the inside of the British Library... though they wouldn't let us look at any of the books. Educated meanies.

But we did get to look at the Magna Carta. We went and saw the National Gallery. Lots of cool pictures, my sister purchased proof. We also took a short cruise on the Thames.

Day 1: Metro!
Well... the plane flights were short and uneventful, we stopped over in Frankfurt on our way here... so the flight attendant was speaking in german and english on the first flight, then german, english and french on the second. O.o!
France is fairly similar to england with the exception that everyone speaks french. (Duh) Oh, and something I didn't mention before... people smoke a LOT more often here in europe. O.o;
Ok anyway... Our apartment is cute and very well furnished, decorated, etc. We love it, especially compared to the london hotel of evilness.
Yesterday, we wandered off to St. Sulpice... which was pretty, but otherwise a let-down... since we went there for awesome organ music and all we heard was noise. (Well, my parents disagree and claim it was awesome and cultural... but I say that the random accordian players we've been finding in the Metro stations and elsewhere have ten times the amount of musical awesomeness than that 'master' organist.)
We then went to the Louvre, which was huge... and let us in with our cameras... so massive video-taping was a lot of fun. XD I will show you all the filmage!
I bought a cute purse for memorobilia.
We then went to a Jazz club, where we heard french singers who immitated american ones. I'm not exactly a fan of Jazz, so I'm going to be fair and not say what I really thought of the music... except to mention that the guy had a nice voice and alllllmost had the american accent down.

Fifty points for him.
And, that is it for now! More to come as we spend more time in Europe. Catch yall laters!
